It is time to start preparing for the AP Economics exam!

The administration is aware of the awesome results on your practice AP Economics exam. They (and I) have high expectations for the May exam. No pressure here, of course.

I recommend that you purchase the Princeton Review for the AP Economics Exam. This reasonably priced review covers both Macro and Micro. It has great vocab review, essential graphs, and complete sample tests for both macro and micro. I suggest that you get the review and take the macro test without any preparation (cold turkey, if you will). You should do this as soon as possible. This will give you an indication of the concepts you need to give extra attention. Come to the preparation sessions with questions in mind.

In the preparation sessions, I will focus on a particular unit. Given the limited number of sessions, I will have to hit the high points and answer specific questions. I will not have time to go into a lot of detailed instruction. That is why you need to do some prep work at home. Glace over the chapter reviews before you come. Refresh your memory on the major concepts. You can go online and review the PowerPoint presentation, etc. You will be surprised how quickly the information comes back to you. I promise.

The first two weeks I will review basic concepts and let you go over the exam you took in December. The next sessions will be devoted to the AD/AS model and monetary and fiscal policy tools. Don’t miss these sessions!

The final sessions will involve practice on both micro and macro with both free response and multiple-choice questions.

I expect the prep sessions to last from 2:15 to 3:30. We will begin on time, so don’t be late if you can help it. Please feel free to bring food!
